Abstract
Modern biotechnologies are more and more applied in bamboo research and practice, and will bring deep influence on the development of bamboo.
In this article, the biotechnology used in ornamental bamboo research was reviewed.
The achievements and the problem in tissue culture, artificial inducement of flowering, gene cloning and molecular marker technique were covered.
In view of the status of biotechnology research, hotspots and development direction of ornamental bamboo research were proposed.
