Abstract
With red flower and yellow flower varieties as experiment subject, the effects of different fertilization conditions, illumination intensity, medium and pH, temperature and humidity were studied on the growth and flowering of Datura arborea. At the same time, the plant type of Datura arborea was observed under different treatments of plant growth regulators.
Leaf fresh weight and leaf area increased under fertilizing with Jiabao (N: 12%, K2O: 44%) and compound fertilizer (N:P:K=2:1:1), but the difference between the two treatments was not significant.
There was good color development of the flowers under 40% sunshade and 17280-25900 lux.
Blossom quantity decreased by 8.41%, blossom diameter increased by 18.53%, corolla length increased by 22.02%. The plant was slow growing at 0-15°C and fast growing at 15-30°C or higher than 30°C. There was no significant difference between latter treatments.
The promotion of temperature can enhance growth rate of ground diameter.
The plant has a good type and ornamental value at 15-30°C. Solution PP333 (0.5-1.0 g/L) was applied three times from sprouting period to beginning of jointing stage to guarantee its ornamental value.
