Abstract
The aim of this research was to facilitate propagation of some Turkish mahaleb genotypes by in vitro techniques.
Shoot tips of annual shoots were used as explants.
Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium was supplemented with different plant growth regulators.
Shoot length, number of leaves and multiplication rate were recorded every 30 days.
In multiplication stages, ten different media were tested.
The optimum multiplication medium was obtained on MS medium supplemented with 1 mg L‑1 BAP + 0.1 mg L‑1 IBA + 0.17 mg L‑1 GA3. Shoots rooted in MS medium supplemented with 0.3 mg L-l NAA. Rooted in vitro shoots were transferred into pots filled with peat for acclimatization.
