Relationship of brightness of fluorescence emitted from leaves of Camellia species with their phylogeny and distribution area

Abstract
Some tree species had leaves emitting strong green-blue fluorescence by ultraviolet light irradiation among Japan native tree plants.
We have led to an idea that the fluorescence is a bird guidance system for propagation of these plants.
All two Japan native Camellia species had bright fluorescent leaves.
In this study, we analyzed Camellia species distributed in east and south continental Asia region including and east islands area.
As a result, we found diversity of the fluorescent brightness of leaves in Camellia species.
The fluorescent brightness of leaves could be concerned with phylogeny and native region of Camellia species.
