Abstract
We compared 9 different covering materials : 3 polyethylene films, 2 modified PE films, 1 infra-red PE and 3 EVA films.
The results indicate the highest luminosity under PE and modified PE, while minimum air and soil temperatures were the highest under EVA, PEIR and modified PE.

The highest mean values for maximum air and soil temperature were registrated under PE, modified PE and PEIR, but the evolution during the growing season indicates also different comportments.

Growth, flowering and early fruitset were better under EVA and modified PE. Early yield was the best under EVA and the lowest under PE film, while the highest total yields were obtained under modified PE and EVA.
