Abstract
IMAG has worked out a research-programme in co-operation with other specialized institutes, to develop the specific characteristics of insulating greenhouse cladding materials.

During the symposium will be reported about the research on plastic channel-section panels and on plastic films.

The following aspects will be indicated:

  • a calculation procedure together with measurements of the insulation value

  • the resistance against hail

  • the strength and stiffness

  • the transmissivity to diffuse and perpendicular light

  • the diminution of both the strength and the light transmittance through accelerated ageing tests

  • the vapour permeability.
