Abstract
Experiments have been performed in order to study the thermal behaviour of a plastic greenhouse.
As major acting factors were shown up, an empirical model was derived for predicting the inside air temperature during day time.

A formula is proposed for the estimation of ventilation requirements for the greenhouse temperature control:

Formula available in full text only

where R = ventilation rate
  G = outside solar radiation
  ΔT = air temperature difference between inside and outside greenhouse.

These results have been found under an uncultivated greenhouse with dry soil conditions.
Extension to cultivated greenhouse conditions must be done cautiously as ventilation requirements are reduced in regard of evaporation.
