Abstract
The relationships between production and environmental factors of a tomato crop under 9 greenhouses characterized by different plastic covering materials have been studied through the use of statistical analysis of principal components.

The relationship between different microclimatic, biological and agronomical observations are discussed.

The best early yields were obtained particularly in the greenhouses with high minimum temperature, and the highest total yields were observed in those with low maximum temperature.

The greenhouses covered by modified polyethylene or with copolymers of vinyl acetate, thermically more temperate, performed the best yields.
