Abstract
During the past several years, our Institute has been working on the natural and accelerated aging of polyethylene (PE) films employed in Spain as covers for greenhouses.
The objective of our work consist in the ability to offer to agriculturalist and plastics industries standards that would permit quality control of the products bought and sold in the market; in this way it will be possible subsequently to stablish the corresponding Quality Standard.

In our investigation we intend to ascertain whether exist a correlation between the natural aging in Almeria and the accelerated artificial aging device IPC which uses fluorescent lamps.
From the experiments carried out to date it can be expected that a good correlation exist between the natural and artificial aging results.
