Abstract
Micropropagated ‘Titan’ and ‘Heritage’ red raspberry plants were greenhouse grown for eight weeks at three soil water levels (high, medium and deficit). Plant height, node number, photosynthetic rate and stomatal conductance decreased with decreasing soil water level. ‘Titan’ had less negative leaf water potentials, a higher root:shoot ratio, and lower stomatal conductance than ‘Heritage’, suggesting that ‘Titan’ may be more resistant to drought conditions than ‘Heritage’.
