Abstract
The majority of the red raspberries (Rubus idaeus) are harvested mechanically in the Pacific Northwest.
Mechanical harvesting loses 20% to 28% of the potential yield through inefficiencies in collection of the fruit.
This study looked at the effect of three mechanical harvester beater speeds and four ground speeds on harvest losses.
