Abstract
Respiration rates (CO2) were measured on fruit from 20 clones of Rubus harvested 15 July 1988 and on 16 clones and 3 fruit maturity classes of 1 clone harvested 22 July 1988. There were significant differences in respiration rate among clones at both harvest dates.
Fruit compression strength was negatively correlated with respiration rate at the second harvest and regression analysis showed a linear relationship.
Respiration rate and compression strength decreased with fruit maturity.
