THE INFLUENCE OF MANY YEARS OF TRIAZYNE HERBICIDE APPLICATION ON THE NUTRIENT CONTENT OF LEAVES AND FRUITS OF WEALTHY APPLE TREES.
There were eight treatments listed below:
1- clean cultivated soil, kept by hand hoeing
2- soil without any treatments
3,4,5- simazine applied annually at the dose of 2.5, 5.0 and 7.5 kg/ha respectively
6,7,8- atrazine applied annually at the dose of 2.5, 5.0 and 7.5 kg/ha respectively.
Each treatment was repeated three times.
After running the experiment for 24 years, samples of leaves for analyses were taken in the second half of August, and fruits were taken at the time of harvest.
On the base of three years of chemical analyses it was found that the leaves and fruits of trees from the herbicide treated plots contained more N and less Ca than from other treatments.
Herbicide application generally did not affect P and K content in leaves and fruit and Mg in fruit.
Mg content was the lowest in the leaves from the trees not treated with herbicides and from the plots of highest doses of triazines.
