Abstract
Studying the importance of nutrient balance for the physiological status, growth and productivity of plants is a means if improving the evaluation of leaf analysis results.

Pot experiments with peach trees proved a higher corelation between values of leaf N/P ratio and the growth, productivity and fruit size of plants.
Regression analysis of data, based on field experiments of many years, carried out by increasing N, P and K fertilization rates, showed a functional relationship between the N/K ratio in the leaves and the yield rate, which can be expressed by a hyperbolic equation.
