Abstract
The experiment with different treatments of soil management was carried out in the Res.
Exp.
Station at Wróblowice during the years 1974–1985. The soil under trees was clean cultivated by the means of herbicides.
In the alleyways 4 treatments of the soil were applied: 1) Soil grassed down regularly mowed, 2) Soil grassed down and controlled with Gramoxone sprayed at the dose of 2 1 per ha, 3) Soil grassed down and regularly rolled when grass reached 15 cm of height, 4) Clean cultivation with machinery.
Mineral fertilizers potassium and phosphorus were applied on the whole surface at the doses depending on mineral soil content.
In 1984 soil samples were taken to the depth 0–20 cm and 20–40 cm from under the trees and from alleyways in the same manner.
Phosphorus and potassium contents were analysed using Egner-Riehm method.
The results of this study showed the differences in content of mineral elements in the soil and pH, between row and alleyway in all treatments.
The content of potassium and magnesium and pH in soil in alleyway of every treatment was higher than the content in rows under the trees.
Only the content of phosphorus in the rows higher than in the alleyways in treatments where alleyways were moved by a machine and where interrows were rolled by a roller.
This experiment showed that variability of the soil content of mineral elements depended on the place where soil samples were taken.
