Abstract
Two techniques for making pollination experiments were compared.
The vaseline method used at Wilhelminadorp Research Station, The Netherlands, was found to be an easy and reliable method.

Crossings between closely related cultivars: Aroma pollinated with its parents Filippa and Ingrid Marie, and Elstar pollinated with its parents Ingrid Marie and Golden Delicious gave good fruit set.
