Abstract
Different treatments in apple inflorescences of cvs.
Elstar and Gala were applied in order to examine their effect on fructification and dominance within the flower cluster.
Fruit set of lateral flowers was increased in Elstar when the terminal flower was removed but not in Gala.
Lateral fruits generally had more seeds than terminal fruits.

Gala showed partial self-compatibility.
Double pollination with first the own pollen and one day later a compatible pollen inhibited pollen tube growth of the compatible pollen.
