Abstract
The length of the maturity period of cauliflower can be shortened through a directed vernalization of the transplants.
For this treatment the transplants must be cultivated at a high temperature until the end of their juvenil phase.
In this way, however, the weight of the curd is decreased and the occurrence of riceyness is encouraged.
An application of the method is only possible when these side effects can be successfully avoided.
