Abstract
The size of the European apple and pear crop has an increasing influence on prices of apples in Belgium during the 1960–1975 period.

In order to increase returns, growers allocated marketings from harvest to early and late storage.
Estimates were obtained for demand relations of the three marketing seasons.
From the vieuwpoint of an industry optimum, the analysis indicates that current return could be increased by selling less apples during the late storage and increasing sales during the early storage.
