Abstract
Callus on a 12 weeks old explant of a potato tuber produced numerous shoots on a medium composed of Murashige and Skoog’s inorganic compounds, Nitsch and Nitsch’s organic compounds, CH (1 g/1), IAA (0.4 mg/1), K (0.8 mg/1), BAP (0.4 mg/1), GA (0.4 mg/1). The callus has now been carried through 6 passages, and the production of shoots continuous.
Also complete plantlets appear in the callus, and by transfer to liquid medium, freefloating embryoids can be observed.

When the shoots are transferred to medium without hormones, and further to soil, they develop into normal plants.
