Abstract
For a grower it is important to know the light transmittance of a greenhouse.
With this date (and many others) he is able to make a decision about which greenhouse and covering is the most economical in his situation.
With this date (and many others) he is able to make a decision about which greenhouse and covering is the most economical in his situation.
It is absolute impossible for a grower to use figures that are functions of:
- the orientation of the greenhouse,
- the relation between direct and global radiation,
- the amount of radiation, etc.
He needs one comparable figure.
As a comparable figure for light transmittance of a greenhouse we use the transmittance factor that is estimated with a diffuse radiation source.
This figure will be the same as the mean transmittance over one year for that greenhouse, even with extreme direct radiation and independent of the orientation of the greenhouse.
