Abstract
This paper discusses the nature of the greenhouse industry in New Zealand and some of the control problems faced by growers.
Currently available models of the greenhouse climate are reviewed, together with their applicability to the study of greenhouse control.
The concept of multivariable control for climate control is introduced and current research into this application is outlined.
