Abstract
Heterosis or hybrid vigour of some fruit characters, as well as, genotype reaction to root-knot nematodes disease was studied in 10 F1 tomato hybrids and their parental cultivars.
Most crosses showed partial or complete dominance for the high shape value, thick flesh and few number of locules.
While incomplete or partial dominance for the firm fruit was observed in most crosses.

No hybrid vigour was observed regarding total soluble solids content, since most crosses were very close to their respective mid-parents in content suggesting incomplete dominance for the character.
On the other hand, hybrid vigour for the high content of vitamin C was reflected by one cross.
For resistance to root-knot nematodes, however, was reflected by more than one corss.
These latter crosses exhibited negative heterosis values when compared with the least infected parent.
