INFLUENCE OF MATURITY AND SOWING DATE ON YIELD AND QUALITY OF GREEN BEANS

An investigation into the influence of maturity and sowing date on the yield and quality of green beans cvs.
Valja and Zarya was carried out in the experiment field of the Agro-Industrial Complex "Malo Konare" and at the Maritsa Vegetable Crops Research Institute in Plovdiv.

A general trend to a decrease of the degustation estimate of canned green beans with higher maturity stage was established.
This was particularly obvious in cv.
Valja.
The degustation estimate decreased when the sowing was performed from mid-April to mid-May and then began to increase so that in mid-July it was identical with the first one in mid-April.

The yield of cv.
Valja increased when the sowing went on to mid-June and decreased in case of sowing in July.
The yield of cv.
Zarya did not change when the sowing went on to mid-June and decreased slightly when sown in July.
