Abstract
The relevance of mechanical harvesting for tomato cultivation is rapidly increasing in the Po valley.
In order to obtain new lines suitable for mechanization, a breeding project has started in Emilia-Romagna region.
In this paper the performance of genotypes characterized by alternative plant structures i.e. monostem or dwarf is discussed.
