Abstract
Transgressive lines of green peas have been obtained superior as far as the vegetation period length is concerned to both Bulgarian and some foreign varieties, e.g. early varieties of green peas – Frühe Harzerin, Arica, Pion and the late ones Hidra, Kosmos, etc.

The late cvs.
Mira, Vyatovo and Prometey are approved and recognized.
They are distinguished for their high productivity, quality and adaptability to machine harvesting.
A method was developed for an all-round evaluation of breeding material and varieties as canning resources on the basis of established relationships between dry matter, yield and green pea grain size.

Standard tests are developed for sensory analysis and organoleptic evaluation of breeding material and varieties.
Special techniques are used for carrying out these tests.
