Abstract
The growth and the nutrient removal of two tomato-cultivar for mechanical harvesting (U.C. 105 J and Maremma), were determined in an experimental field of the middle Italy.
Plant samples were collected every fortnight, beginning at transplanting (end of May) and continuing for a 6 fortnight period.

The mineral uptake of the two cv of processing tomatoes shows some marked differences in quantities and in rates of the nutrients, and some relations with their earliness.
