Abstract
Experiments were conducted at the Royal Pang-Da Experiment Station in 1987 using terminal leafy stem cuttings propagated under intermittent mist and full sunlight.

Stem cuttings of Japanese apricot treated with IBA at the concentration of 2 000 ppm showed a significant increase in percent rooting and the quality of roots formed, but the quality appeared to decrease at 1 500, 2 500 and 3 000 ppm of IBA. NAA and IAA did not give significant results.

Root formation was not influenced by rooting media when burned rice hull, coir-dust, fine sand, a mixture of burned rice hull to sand (1 : 1), and a mixture of coir-dust to sand (1 : 1) were compared.
However, the root quality of cuttings rooted in burned rice hull was better than that for other media.

The months of June and October were the best period for producing cuttings, while, April and August were found to give the lowest rooting percentage.
