Abstract
An effective irrigation scheduling system that ensures that water does not limit fruit growth is a necessary component of successful kiwifruit management.
The use of micromorphometric measurements of the kiwifruit stem as a reliable tool to schedule irrigation is discussed.
Two criteria: the net evolution of the diameter (DE) and the amplitude of contraction (CA) are used to characterize one day.
The influences of phenological stages, water stress periods and microclimatic events are shown.
