Abstract
Apple fruits of Golden B and Cooper 7/SB2 were analysed for gibberellin-like substances starting from 21 days to 169 days after F.B. for two years (1987 and 1988). Fruit diameter, cell size of fruit flesh and epidermis, and seed development were also measured.
GA-like substances were present sent during cell enlargement and seemed to be initially linked with seed activity, and then directly synthetized in the fruit flesh.
GAs content was higher in 1987 than in 1988 and in Golden B apples than in Cooper 7/SB2 ones.
