Abstract
‘Maraton’ and ‘Hron’ are red currant vartleties which originate from crosses made in 1964 between ‘Jonkheer van Tets’ and ‘Heinemann Rote Spatlese’. ‘Maraton’ has long clusters with big dark red berries.
It belongs to the mid-season varieties released for growing in 1991. ‘Hron’ has long clusters with bright red coloured berries.
It is a mid-late season variety.
The bushes are vigorous.
This variety was introduced in 1992.
