Abstract
PCR and RFLP analysis was made of three putative species of Cecidophyopsis mite on black currant red currant and gooseberry.
Such analysis indicated many differences in the base composition of the internal transcribed spacer region of the ribosomal DNA between each species.
The results are consistent with the original taxonomic distinctions given to these mites, indicating that they are not simply host specific biotypes of one species.
