Abstract
Cecidophyopsis ribis from black currant, C. selachodon from red currant and C. grossulariae from gooseberry were examined by light microscopy (LM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and, for C. ribis, also by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Morphological characters observed by LM distinguished the three mite species and these were studied further by SEM. These SEM studies also provided information on surface anatomical features which were used to compliment TEM of ultrathin sections of mites.
TEM studies identified the major internal anatomy of C. ribis.
