Abstract
With a well balanced nitrogen fertilisation the yield of some plum varieties in Southwest Germany can be increased.
The influence of fertilisation with different amounts of nitrogen on pollen tube growth, longevity of ovules and fruit set were investigated.
The nitrogen content in the soil (Nmin-method) was tested to exclude damaging effects by overfertilisation.
