CORRELATION BETWEEN NUT AND KERNEL CHARACTERS OF PERSIAN WALNUT SEEDLING TREES OF GARSA VALLEY IN KULLU DISTRICT OF HIMACHAL PRADESH

The nut weight was found significantly and positively correlated with nut width , nut length, nut thickness, pad width, pad thickness, shell thickness, kernel weight, kernel width, kernel length, kernel thickness and nut width with nut length, nut thickness, index of roundness, pad width, pad thickness, kernel weight, kernel width, kernel length and kernel thickness. Shell thickness was negatively and significantly correlated with kernel percentage; index of roundness with kernel width, kernel thickness, kernel length; nut length with nut width, kernel length, kernel thickness, index of roundness; nut thickness with index of roundness, pad thickness, kernel width, kernel length and kernel thickness. Kernel weight was associated with kernel length, kernel thickness and kernel percentage; kernel width with kernel thickness and kernel thickness with kernel length.
