Abstract
The present studies were undertaken at two locations, Garsa and Jogindernagar. There was a considerable variation for nut and kernel characters in these seedling trees. Nut weight varied from 6.40 to 20.55 g, nut width from 21.03 to 38.76 mm, nut length from 27.05 to 47.15 mm, nut thickness 21.79 to 41.93 mm, index of roundness from 0.59 to 1.09, pad width between 2.30 to 6.95 mm, pad thickness between 2.63 to 6.45 mm, shell thickness from 0.60 to 2.60 mm, mean kernel weight of nut from 1.50 to 7.10 g, kernel width 13.79 to 33.37 mm, kernel length from 21.94 to 36.31 mm, kernel thickness from 18.31 to 47.33 mm and kernel percentage from 12.0 to 62.5. Data for mean values per nut, standard deviation, variance, coefficient of variation, standard error and critical difference were tabulated and analysed for these two locations separately.
