STUDY IN THE ECONOMICALLY-VALUABLE GENETIC PROPERTY OF THE F1 PROGENY OF ‘CHUAN MI 3#’ (♀) × HY-SEEDLING (♂)

Abstract
The economically-valuable genetic property of 63 F1 progenies of ‘Chuan Mi 3#’ (♀) × HY-seedling (♂) were examined in this paper.
The F1 progenies started successive flowering from the third year after transplanting, the proportion of flowering plants reached to 93.7% by the fifth year.
There were more males than females among the plants which flowered early, the proportion of females in the plants which flowered later was getting larger.
Whatever, the ratio of males and females in the whole population was 1:1. Among the F1 female progenies, fruit traits including sensory flesh and ovary colour, general shape, fruit size, sensory SSC, dry matter content showed wide variations.
Approximately 22.58% of the individuals had red ovary colour.
Three individuals had better general traits than the parents in skin colour, general shape of stylar end, dry matter content, sensory flesh and ovary colour.
The result is in line with the goal of cross-breeding.
The results indicated that the males from HY-seedlings carry the gene of red ovary colour, and it can be used to created new materials with different flesh colour such as yellow flesh with red ovary or gold flesh with red ovary.
We got 3 selections with better general traits, for example: yellow sensory flesh, red ovary in this study.
