Abstract
The effects of different factors upon the yield of Catharanthus roseus and its alkaloid content and composition have been studied.

Different growth regulators and ionizing rays were applied Populations proceeding from different geographic zones were compared in order to select the plants with the highest alkaloid content and better adapted to the climatic conditions of Poland.
Besides, the effects of different growing techniques and different dates of harvesting have been compared.
