Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of some germination methods and media on some Pistacia spp. pollen.
In the experiment, two P. terebinthus (01-PT-03 and 01-PT-06) and two P. atlantica types (01-PA-03 and 01-PA-06) were used.
As the germination methods, tube, saturated petri, and hanging drop were tested.
Different doses of sucrose (0, 5, 10, 15 and 25 %) and boric acid (0, 25, 50, 100 and 400 ppm) were used as media.
The best results were obtained from 10 to 15 % sucrose solution.
However, the highest germination rate (81.67 %) was obtained from P. atlantica 01-PA-04 type with 25 ppm boric acid media.
