Abstract
Seventy Trichoderma spp. and fifteen Gliocladium spp. isolates were obtained from Colombian soils for the purposes of bio-controlling Fusarium oxysporum f sp. dianthi in carnations, and Phoma chrysanthemicola in pompons. F. oxysporum f. sp. dianthi was grown in wheat Kervels, and Trichoderma spp and Gliocladium in rice husks.
This isolates were then added to the plants before planting.
One month later, the soil was inoculated again, using 20 ml of a suspension containing 10 antagonist conidia per ml.
Eleven Trichoderma spp. isolates were highly effective to reduce disease incidence, while another 15 reduced the disease slightly.
The isolates G8B, G11B, G33B and G55B of Gliocladium spp. were fairly efficient against vascular with.
Indeed, the carnation plants produced more buds and flowers.
The antagonist isolates most effective in controlling Phoma chrysanthemicola were: T8B, T5B, T73B, T56B, T95, T40, T20B (Trichoderma), G8B, G8MN, G15Cz, G1B, G13Ck (Gliocladium). Evaluation of their efficiency under commercial conditions is recommended.
