Abstract
Evaluation of insecticides namely,
-cyfluthrin 0.0025% (Bulldock 025SC), deltamethrin 0.0028% (Decis 2.8 EC) and chlorpyriphos 0.04% (Durmet 20 EC) against pomegranate fruit borer, Deudorix epijarbas was carried out during 2002. The insecticides were sprayed thrice starting from second fortnight of June, at 10- day interval.
The infestation was very less (<5% even in control) up to 10 days of first spray, hence the treatments were non-significant.
After 10 days of spray, only deltamethrin (3.3% infestation) was statistically significant over control (11.7% infestation). However, after 10 days of third spray, the fruit infestation was very high (60% in control) and all the chemical treatments (5-16% infestation) were statistically superior.
Deltamethrin proved to be the most efficacious (5% infestation) followed by
-cyfluthrin and chlorpyriphos, both being on a par.
