Abstract
The national cabbage collection from IPGR, Sadovo consists of 308 accessions.
Most of the accessions have been characterized according to the international descriptors for 36 characters.
Many accessions were received from HRI, Wellesbourne – UK; CGN-Netherlands; VIR-Russian Federation.
The collected materials are stored in the genebank in IPGR, Sadovo (long-term storage at -18°C and short-term at +4°C ). As a result of the evaluation of cabbage accessions was established that one part of them have resistance to diseases and economic quality and are of definite interest to breeding.
Larger and more compact heads and weight formed by accessions – cat.
No. 8239, 8317, 8324, 9102, 9110, 9113.
The cultivars received from Netherlands – cat.
No. 8809, 8224, 8268; Russia, France – 8330, 8545, 8239 and lines No. 77, No. 451 were with most high yield (118.0 to 137.7%). The varieties had very good economic quality: hardness, very compact head with good storability.
The 26 accessions received from the Netherlands, UK, Germany are with high resistance to the economic important diseases – mildew, alternaria blight and bacteriosis.
The accessions with complex resistance to these three diseases are 8 accessions with cat.
