Abstract
A TLC analysis of alkaloids from leaves and bulbs of Pancratium maritimum was performed.
Six alkaloids were identified.
Narciclasine, Lycorine and Crinine (a) were present only in bulbs.
However, Galanthamine, Crinine (b) and Tazettine were detected in both leaves and bulbs.
Sodium alginate from bulbs was detected using FT-IR. This qualitative analysis showed that Sodium alginate characteristic peaks of P. maritimum and S. muticum were similar.
FT-IR spectra reported an intense peak around 1613 cm-1 and a second intense peak around 1432 cm¹.
