Abstract
Cuminum (Cuminum cyminum L.) is one of the most important crops in terms of exports, income, water use efficiency and reclamation of the arid and semiarid regions.
The present study was carried out in order to evaluate appropriate Zn Teprosyn seed treatment in cuminum (Cuminum cyminum L.) under Fariman conditions and the experiment was conducted in cropping year 2007–2008 using completely Randomized design in Laboratory and Randomized Complete Block design in Farm for rate of germination and quantitative yield respectively.
Number of replications were 4. Treatments of Zn levels including (0.75, 150 and 225 ml/10 kg seeds). High significant difference was observed in rate of germination, yield and yield components.
Results showed that rate of germination at 75 ml treatment and control, was highest and lowest, respectively in the field conditions 75 and control.
Treatments had highest yields compared to other treatments, that it was due to preventive effects of higher use (supra-optimum) and also was due to lower number of branches from main stem and lower distribution of photosynthitate to more limited number of sinks, control treatment had higher 1000 grain weight relative to other treatments.
