Abstract
Almonds are a highly nutritious food, rich in protein, unsaturated fatty acids, essential minerals, vitamins, dietary fiber, and other nutrients.
Besides pest and disease resistance, bearing and fruiting capacity, a valuable almond cultivar also has a high quantity of oils and unsaturated fatty acids, proteins, and mineral elements.
In this study, eight almond cultivars: ‘April’, ‘Ana’, ‘Lauranne’, ‘Marinada’, ‘Mirela’, ‘Nico’, ‘Supernova’, and ‘Vairo’ from a high-density orchard in Greci, Tulcea, Romania, were analyzed in terms of fatty acid, protein, and mineral content during 2021-2022. Based on the results obtained, the analyzed cultivars may be of interest to consumers and the food processing industry.
