Abstract
The growth and development of the tomato plant can be influenced at most stages of the life cycle by applied growth regulators.
All the five major natural growth substances have effects and have been tested in different contexts, such as seed germination, shoot and root growth, side branch development, flowering and truss formation, fruit ripening and senescence.
The information available in the literature will be summarized and new data on seed germination and particularly a method for inducing continuous growth of the plant will be described.
