Based on experiments conducted over a number of years it emerged that to maximize seed production a package of technology including planting of bigger sized (80–100g) bulbs in second fortnight of October at a spacing of 45 cm between rows and 30 cm between bulbs in a field receiving herbicide treatment of pendimethalin are fluchloralin 2,5 liter per acre followed by plant protection using Dithane M45 0.3% + Monocrotophos 0.05% at 10 days interval should be followed.
