Abstract
After a short historic review is being stated that there is especially in Germany in general an increase of the criteria of evaluation of ornamental plants as well as a high standard of quality.
Following it is tried to show the evaluation of a "new ornamental plant" as well as the activities for its development, introduction and use.
This is done from the point of view of different institutions and persons working on these problems.
That concerns discovering and collecting, description, experimenting and developing, production and storage, packing, transport as well as selling and consumption.
Positive in particular is to reach a successful propagation, the cultivation and development to a marketable ornamental plant, high in quality and up to date, the possibility for storage without loss of quality and high durability under consumers’ conditions.
Furthermore methods of making known and the introduction of a "new ornamental plant" are mentioned.
Thereby information and advertisement by different media stand in the central point.
