Abstract
Recent results from the large selection programme of the Swiss Federal Research Station Wädenswil (FAW) for sweet cherries are presented.
Included are dessert cherry cultivars from Switzerland and new cultivars from other countries in Europe and North America that are potentially promising for cherry production in Switzerland.
Special emphasis is placed on fruit quality and resistance to fruit cracking.
