Abstract
On Taurus Mountains of Turkey sweet cherry is grown on quite high elevations (1000 to 1600 m). Major cultivar is ‘Aksehir Napoleon’ or ‘0900 Ziraat’. The average weight of the fruit is 8.2 g, the pedicel is long.
The flesh is very firm.
Since there is almost no rain during the maturation time of the fruits, cracking is not a problem.
TSS content is around 14 to 18%. Harvest time is rather late (end of June or beginning of August). Due to its high quality and tolerance to transport it is mostly exported to European and Gulf countries.

For 3 years an integrated project were going on to improve the quality, protection against the cherry fly (Ragoletis cerasi), trickle irrigation, pruning, fertilisation biology, pre-cooling and storage of fruits.
During these three years promising results were obtained in each part of the experiment.
